during my residency in swedish fengersfors within my longterm research project takmertdotyk (“almost-touch”)i have been working with an issue of waiting: waiting for something to come, for something to happen, waiting for a myth, for a legend. for arrival my work was based on observations of local people, according to which in a certain period of year (late summer/autumn) migrating
moose on their way to different territories would enter the peoples‘ gardens (very rarely fenced), being lured by fruiting apple-trees.
a wild animal intruding an intimate space, home. within few weeks i have spent dozens of hours in our garden, waiting for a moose to come. i wouldn´t set traps or hunt, track, follow….just a pure act of waiting and being in the garden.
therefore the garden became a space where anything could happen
a mythical encounter

and eventually they came
although I was already gone
